On this day in history, January 4th, 2001, Michael Jordan hit a very important milestone in his magical, and magnificent career. Michael Jordan, of the Washington Wizards, became just the fourth player (Now their are 5) to ever hit 30,000 career points. This milestone came as he hit the second of two free throws, with 5:28 left in the second quarter of their exhibition game. The Wizards went on to win this game against the Chicago Bulls 89-83. Since then their has only been one other player to achieve this. Can you guess who it was?….. That’s right… Kobe Bryant. These two legends are joined by Wilt Chamberlain, Kareem Abdul-Jabar, and Karl Malone. A funny little fact about this prestigous group, Michael Jordan is the only player of the five that has not at one point in his career played for the Los Angeles Lakers.
